| Metallurgical and engineering industries have a significant share in establishing and improving other industries by producing capital equipment and automotives, which represent a large portion of total investments necessary for any project. The project listed main productive capacities in the Egyptian industrial base including unique machines and equipment. Since feeding industries are main pillars of producing capital equipment, it is necessary to recognize the capabilities available in Egypt to be used to support local industrialization. As the local component of automotive industry depends primarily on feeding industries, this study lists main feeding industries of capital equipment and automotive industry. |
| Many factories and workshops producing components and spare parts may help capital equipment industry and boost local industrialization. These factories and workshops should have the opportunity of production at the national level, while committing to international specifications of quality. |
| It was difficult to list the feeding industries, categorize and code their data, the project used some international systems such as the publications of GATT or UNIDO as well as the techniques of classification used by developed countries. The project used the GATT coding system with the products of each company. The GATT coding was used for standard specifications of these products. Sub-products were considered and added with detailed labels. |
| Database of feeding industries of capital equipment and automotives includes: |
• Basic company data.
• Product coding according to GATT coding and its details.
• Detailed data on the products, specifications and quantities. |

The database can produce reports on:
• Companies producing certain products according to the beneficiary request.
• List of feeding products requested by the beneficiary, including licences and models used in production.
• Basic company data.
• GATT code and name (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade). |
